Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings started bidding on Shami, the first player of the second set. After this, Lucknow Super Giants also entered the field. Finally Sunrisers Hyderabad entered. Gujarat Titans did not use the Right to Match card. In such a situation, Hyderabad bought him for Rs 10 crore.
Mohammed Shami has played for 4 franchises in IPL so far. He was associated with Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2013. In the first season, he got a chance to play only 3 matches. Delhi Daredevils signed Shami before IPL 2014. That season Shami took 7 wickets in 12 matches. Next season, Shami could not play any match due to injury. Shami also got injured in IPL 2018, so the franchise released him.
