Bidding will be held for 577 players. 204 players can be purchased. Before the auction, 10 franchises had retained 46 players. There are 367 Indian and 210 foreign players. Only 70 foreign players can be bought. Many big names like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are in the auction this time.
There will be bidding for 84 players in 12 sets on the first day of the auction. There will be bidding for marquee players. After this there will be lunch. Then there will be bidding for capped batsman, all-rounder and wicketkeeper. After this there will be a break of 15 minutes. After this there will be an auction of capped bowlers. There will be a break of 10 minutes. The final set of the first day will feature the first set of uncapped players. Seven players will be involved in this. Which means big names like Faf du Plessis, Kane Williamson, Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane are there.
Punjab Kings have the most money in their purse
After the retention of just two players, Punjab Kings will enter the auction with the highest budget. At present Rs 110.5 crores are left in his purse. Punjab spent only Rs 9.5 crore in retention and retained two players. PBKL spent Rs 5.5 crore on uncapped Shashank Singh and Rs 4 crore on Prabhsimran Singh. Punjab will now have four RTM cards in the auction. A team could retain only a maximum of 6 players. Teams that have retained less than 6 players will get a chance to use RTM cards in the auction.

RR is one of the two teams which retained maximum 6 players. IPL 2024 winners Kolkata Knight Riders have also retained 6 players. KKR has a budget of Rs 51 crore.
