When Kanhaiyalal Meena, a constable in Rajasthan Police, went to drop his wife at the bus stop on Friday, little did he know that it would be his last farewell. Anita Meena was among the 14 people who died after an LPG tanker collided with multiple vehicles on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway, leading to a massive fire that gutted 40 vehicles.
Anita, who was posted with the fourth battalion of RAC (Rajasthan Armed Constabulary) in Chainpura, was on her way to Jaipur from Dudu to report for duty on Friday morning. Anita, who was the sole breadwinner of her family, boarded the bus at 3 in the morning.
However, the journey turned fatal when the sleeper bus caught fire during the accident in Bhankarota area. The victims and injured were taken to Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital.

Most of the bodies brought to the hospital were so burnt that it was difficult to identify them.
