Jharkhand gifted to Putin in BRICS, Maharashtra handicraft to Iranian President

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently presented handmade artefacts from Maharashtra to the leaders of Iran and Uzbekistan during the BRICS summit and showcased the art of Jharkhand to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Prime Minister Modi was on a two-day visit to Russia, where he attended the 16th BRICS summit and held bilateral meetings with Russian President Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and other leaders.

What gifts did PM Modi give to the leaders during the BRICS Summit?
PM Modi presented a Mother of Pearl (MOP) seashell vase to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. Officials said the vase, crafted by coastal artisans from Maharashtra, symbolizes the rich craftsmanship and natural beauty of the region. He honored the ancient art of the Warli tribe of Maharashtra by gifting a traditional Warli painting to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The roots of painting go back about 5,000 years.

Jharkhand’s painting gifted to Putin

Modi presented a ‘Mother of Pearl’ sea-shell vase to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. At the same time, President of Uzbekistan Shaukat was presented a traditional Warli painting, which is the prestigious art of the Warli tribe of Maharashtra.
