The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) investigating the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 adopted all the amendments proposed by the ruling BJP-led NDA members and dismissed every change presented by the opposition members in the block-by-block discussion Gave. The JPC announced that the draft report would be aired by 28 January and then formally adopted on 29 January. Opposition MPs criticized the proceedings of the meeting and accused Pal of distorting the democratic process. TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee told reporters that it was a ridiculous practice.
