Taking aim at Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal ahead of Delhi Assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Pravesh Verma said that the former Chief Minister never visited any village and did not allow any villager of Delhi to live in his ‘Sheesh Mahal’. The BJP leader said that today, he felt that the entire rural Delhi was voting against AAP – rural Delhi not only Jats but also Gujjars, Yadavs, Tyagis and Rajputs, all of them saying in one voice that they Arvind Kejriwal government has to be overthrown. He said that this time we will form our government in Delhi. Today he remembered the Jats. If he had done something for the Jats, he would not have remembered the Jats 25 days before the elections.
Delhi Assembly elections will be held in a single phase on February 5 and counting of votes will take place on February 8. The last date for filing nomination is January 17. The date of scrutiny of nominations is January 18. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is 20 January. Earlier in the day, Arvind Kejriwal said that the Delhi Assembly elections will be a direct contest between AAP and BJP and not an election of the India Alliance.
