BJP has made Neelkanth Munda its candidate from this seat. So Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has made Ram Surya Munda its candidate from this seat. Khunti district is one of the twenty-four districts of South Chhotanagpur division of Jharkhand state. It was created by separating it from Ranchi district on 12 September 2007.

Neelkanth Singh Munda has been MLA from Khunti Assembly seat 5 times. Neelkanth Singh Munda has also been the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Rural Development in the Government of Jharkhand. Neelkanth Munda’s name comes first among the prominent leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party in the state. In the 2014 assembly elections, Neelkanth Munda got 59,198 votes. In this election, JMM’s Sushil Pahan got 32,871 votes. Along with this, JVM(P) candidate Dayamani Barla got 20,726 votes.

In this election, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Neelkand Munda had won with a huge vote. Khunti district has one Lok Sabha seat and 3 assembly seats. According to the census, the total population of the district is 5.32 lakh.

Let us tell you that JMM has made Ram Surya Munda its candidate against BJP candidate Neelkanth Singh Muntha from Khunti Assembly seat. Neelkanth Munda has been the MLA from this seat for the last 5 times. This time, JMM has placed its bet on a new face, Ramsurya Munda. Earlier, JMM had fielded Snehlata Kandulna as its candidate from Khunti seat. Later the party removed him and made Ram Surya Munda its candidate. In such a situation, it will be very interesting to see whether JMM will be able to destroy the fort of Bharatiya Janata Party on this seat.
