Actually, Royal Challengers Bangalore has bought him for Rs 5.75 crore. His old team Lucknow did not bid for him, but two teams fought for him and in the end he went to RCB.
RCB fought with Rajasthan Royals for him. Krunal, who landed with a base price of Rs 2 crore, went up to Rs 5.75 crore and after that Rajasthan did not bid for him. Lucknow was asked to use RTM for them but the franchise clearly refused.
Krunal started his IPL career in 2015 with Mumbai Indians. He played with the same team till 2021, but in the year 2022, Mumbai did not retain both the brothers. Hardik Pandya went to Gujarat Titans while Krunal went to Lucknow. When KL Rahul passed away in 2023, Krunal also captained the team. In the year 2024, the franchise snatched the vice-captaincy from him. The franchise did not retain him in the year 2025. Krunal entered the auction and RCB took him in their name.
