Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad on Sunday created a new controversy by calling Mahakumbh as ‘meaningless’. Actually, RJD leaders were answering a question related to the stampede at New Delhi railway station. During this, he said that this Kumbh has no meaning, it is useless. Controversy arose over Lalu’s statement. The BJP targeted him and accused RJD leaders of always insulting the religious sentiments of Hindus.
Lalu Prasad blamed the Railways for the death of the stampede at New Delhi railway station. He targeted the NDA government at the Center over the incident and demanded the resignation from Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Lalu said, ‘Very sad incident has happened, we pay tribute to all people. This is the fault of the railway. So many people have died due to mismanagement and negligence of the railway. The Union Railway Minister should resign after this incident.
When asked about the increasing crowd about Mahakumbh, the RJD chief said, “Hey, what is the meaning of Kumbh, it is useless.”

Reacting to Lalu’s remarks, Bihar BJP spokesperson Manoj Sharma told ‘PTI-Bhasha’, ‘RJD chiefs are making such comments due to their appeasement politics. RJD leaders have always insulted the religious sentiments of Hindus. The latest statement of the RJD chief calls Mahakumbh as ‘meaningless’ reveals the party’s mentality towards Hinduism. They (RJD) disregard the rules of Sanatan Dharma by eating non -vegetarian food in Shravan month. ‘
Shankaracharya of Govardhan Peeth reacted to Lalu’s statement
On the statement of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Shankaracharya Swami Shri Adhopakanand of Govardhan Peeth said, ‘I have pity on such politicians who have such a negative attitude and make derogatory statements. I pray that God gives them goodwill. Is there any other government that has been successful in making such a big event successful? ‘
