Lashkar-e-Taiba’s most wanted terrorist Abu Qatal, killed in Pakistan, was involved in many attacks in India

Abu Katal, one of the most wanted terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba, has died. According to a report by India Today, Katal was shot in Pakistan on Saturday evening. Let me tell you, Katal was known for plotting many attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
IT sources said Katal (real name Jia-ur-Rehman) was attacked near Zeenat Hotel near Dina Punjab University in Jhelum area. As soon as the convoy of Jia-ur-Rahman passed, unknown gunmen started firing bullets at him. The attackers fired 15 to 20 rounds, in which Katal and one of his security guards died on the spot. Another guard was seriously injured in the incident.
According to sources, Abu Katal was being provided strict security by the Pakistani Army, in which Pakistani military personnel were deployed in Lashkar-e-Taiba militants and plain clothes for his protection.

Katal was involved in many attacks against India
Katal was a close aide of Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. He played an important role in the attack on the bus of pilgrims returning from Shiv Khori temple in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on 9 June. The attack was carried out under the leadership of Katal.
Hafiz Saeed appointed Abu Katal as Chief Operational Commander of Lashkar. Hafiz Saeed used to order Abu Katal, who later carried out major attacks in Kashmir. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also registered the name of Katal in its charge sheet for being involved in the 2023 Rajouri attack.
He was also involved in the Bhatta/Duria terror attack on 20 April 2023, killing five army personnel and his bodies were mutilated. Several security agencies, including the army, were monitoring Katal for his role in several terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir.
