Pakistan -backed terrorist organization The Resistance Front (TRF) has claimed responsibility for a cruel attack on tourists in Basarn grounds in Pahalgam, located in Anantnag district of South Kashmir. In the afternoon attack, at least one tourist was killed and 12 to 13 people were injured, many of whom are in critical condition. The attack, which took place a few weeks before the Amarnath Yatra, has created a sensation in the entire region, it is a time when the number of tourists usually increases in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to officials, the terrorists fired indiscriminately by targeting unarmed tourists near a popular resort area in Pahalgam. Security forces and policemen were immediately sent to the spot and the ambulances were rushed to the nearest hospitals. The area has been sealed and a large -scale search operation is being carried out to catch the culprits. Security checks have been intensified at all exit points to prevent them from escape.
PM Modi calls Amit Shah
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep concern over the incident and called Union Home Minister Amit Shah and directed to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens. PM Modi also asked Shah to visit the attack place to assess the situation personally. Following the Prime Minister’s directive, the Home Minister convened a high -level security meeting to review the comprehensive security scenario, especially Jammu and Kashmir. What is the Resistance Front (TRF)? The Resistance Front is a relatively new but deadly terrorist organization that emerged after the cancellation of Article 370 in August 2019. It is believed that it is a pseudo-organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba, which was designed to give a “local face” to extremism in Kashmir. Within six months of its formation, the group united various terrorists from various organizations under their banner.

Many terrorist attacks involved
Terrorists Sajid Jatt, Sajjad Gul and Salim Rahmani are prominent in this front, they are all associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. Since its inception, the TRF Valley, considered to be the organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET), has been involved in several terrorist attacks targeted by tourists, minority Kashmiri pundits and especially migrant laborers.
