Lok Sabha elections phase 5: 48.66% voting till 5 pm in Maharashtra

A total of 48.66 percent voting was recorded till 5 pm across all 13 constituencies in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra on Monday. Mumbai's voting percentage failed to cross 50 per cent till 5 pm. According to the Election Commission, Mumbai North recorded 46.91 percent voting; Mumbai North Central saw 47.32 percent voting, Mumbai North East saw 48.67 percent voting, Mumbai North West saw 49.79 percent voting. Till 5 pm, Mumbai South recorded the lowest turnout in the city with 44.22 percent. 48.26 percent voting took place in Mumbai South Central. Many industrialists, Bollywood celebrities and people from all walks of life exercised their franchise in the voting held today on six seats in Mumbai. Celebrities who voted included Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kiara Advani. Aamir Khan said that I just want to appeal to all Indians to come out in large numbers and cast their vote and be a part of this democracy. It is our responsibility to vote. I appeal to everyone to come out and vote, and do not waste your vote. I want youth, elders, women, men and everyone should come out and vote.
