Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Bhaiyaji Joshi on Thursday spoke on his statement on his statement, saying that one of his statements has caused misunderstandings. Joshi had earlier said in a comment that not every person coming to Mumbai should learn Marathi, which has caused political fights amidst the ongoing language dispute. However, now he said that one of my statements has caused misunderstandings. There is no doubt that the language of Mumbai is not Marathi. The language of Maharashtra is Marathi. Mumbai is in Maharashtra and naturally the language of Mumbai is Marathi.

The RSS leader said that various languages are spoken in India. People who speak different languages also live in Mumbai. So it is a natural expectation to come here and learn Marathi, consider Marathi, read Marathi. I think this is a great example of co-existence that people speaking so many languages in India live together. I think Mumbai is also an ideal example of this. But it is a natural expectation that the person coming to Mumbai should understand Marathi, Marathi said, learn Marathi, read Marathi.
He said that this is the only expectation. I have nothing to say more than this. My mother tongue is Marathi. But I also respect the existence of all languages. I request everyone to see it from the same perspective. On the statement of RSS leader Bhaiyaji Joshi, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray said that a case of treason should be registered against Bhaiyaji Joshi. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday emphasized that Marathi is the language of Mumbai and Maharashtra and whoever lives here should learn and speak it.

Fadnavis said, “If you love your language and respect it, you do the same with other languages. I am sure Bhaiyaji will agree with me.”
