In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Gujarat government has transferred 10 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, including the collectors of Narmada, Porbandar and Sabarkantha districts. According to a notification of the General Administration Department, Narmada Collector Shweta Tewatia has been appointed as Director (Administration) of Gujarat Energy Development Corporation Limited in Vadodara.

List of IAS officers transferred
Narmada Collector Shweta Tewatia has been appointed as Director (Administration) in Gujarat Energy Development Corporation Limited in Vadodara.
Gandhinagar District Development Officer (DDO) S K Modi will replace Tewatia as Narmada Collector.
Porbandar Collector K D Lakhani has been appointed as Labour Director in Gandhinagar.
Devbhoomi-Dwarka DDO SD Dhanani will take charge as the new collector of Porbandar.
Sabarkantha Collector N N Dave will now serve as Valsad Collector.
Ratankanwar Gadhvicharan, a 2009 batch IAS officer and state project director of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in Gandhinagar, will replace Dave.
Bhavnagar Municipal Commissioner N V Upadhyay will be the registrar of cooperative societies in Gandhinagar. 2010 batch IAS officer Sujeet Kumar will take over the role of Bhavnagar’s civic chief.
Lalit Narayan Singh Sandhu, Managing Director of Gujarat State Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation, has been appointed as the new State Project Director of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in Gandhinagar.

B J Patel, Additional Inspector General of Registration, Vadodara, will become the DDO of Gandhinagar.
18 senior IAS, 8 IPS officers transferred
Earlier on July 31, the Gujarat government had reappointed 18 IAS officers, including three returning from their stints at the Centre and Auroville Foundation. According to a General Administration Department (GAD) notification, T Natarajan, who was earlier additional secretary in the Department of Defence Production at the Centre, has been appointed principal secretary in the state’s finance department.
