The extended organizational meeting of the Trinamool Congress was held on Thursday, where the party supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee prepared the party’s strategy for the 2026 assembly elections. During this, Mamata Banerjee attacked the BJP fiercely. Along with this, he said that until the Election Commission is not fair, independent and fair elections cannot be held. He said while filling the hukari that we will identify those fake voters who have been registered with the help of BJP.

On appointing Gyanesh Kumar as Chief Election Commissioner, Mamata Banerjee alleged that the BJP is trying to influence the Election Commission. He said that we will not allow outsiders to occupy Bengal. He alleged that the BJP won elections in Delhi and Maharashtra by enrolling fake voters from Haryana, Gujarat. Along with this, he said that if needed, we will protest in front of the Election Commission office demanding the removal of fake voters from the voter list.
In another development, TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee rejected reports that he had differences with party chief Mamata Banerjee, and confirmed his loyalty to him. He said at a party conference in Kolkata, “I am a loyal soldier of TMC and my leader is Mamata Banerjee.” He dismissed the speculation of joining BJP, saying, “Those who are saying that I am joining BJP, they are spreading rumors.”

He said, “I know those who are spreading such fake news. They have vested interests before next year’s assembly elections.” The Diamond Harbor MP also said that he would “continue to expose traitors within the party, as he did during the last assembly elections”.
