According to the police report, the women reached the resort on Saturday and sat near the swimming pool the next day. There is CCTV footage showing the moments leading up to the drowning. The women had set up their phones for recording and left their clothes on the side of the swimming pool before swimming. The three girls did not know how to swim, yet they entered the deeper part of the swimming pool. One of the women started having trouble staying above water and when the other two women tried to help, they also ended up in the water. Police officials said that all three women drowned within a few minutes.
The resort staff, who became aware of the situation, ran towards the pool after hearing the commotion and found that the woman was unconscious. The alarm was raised and a team from Ullal police station led by Inspector HN Balakrishna was sent to the spot. Upon arrival the bodies were removed and the women were declared dead.

Preliminary investigation suggests that none of the women knew how to swim and had attempted to enter the deeper part of the pool. Video footage shows a woman trying to reach a swimming pool tube while struggling to breathe. Despite her efforts to swim, she ultimately died from drowning.
The resort, which lacked lifeguards on duty at the time of the incident, is facing investigation for safety lapses. The depth of the pool was not clearly marked, and there were no warnings about swimming pool safety guidelines. The police have registered an FIR in the matter, and the manager of the resort has been arrested for further investigation.
Mangaluru Police Commissioner Anupam Aggarwal confirmed that the deaths were due to “accidental drowning”, but said that the resort’s negligence contributed to the tragic outcome. “Strict action will be taken against the resort for security lapses,” he said.
The families of the victims, who were in the area for a short time, have expressed their grief over the devastating loss. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy, and further action is expected once the investigation is complete.
