The protesters attacked the residences of ministers Sapam Ranjan, L Susindro Singh and Y Khemchand, an official said. He said that ‘to maintain law and order’ in Imphal Valley, indefinite curfew has been imposed in Imphal East and West, Bishnupur, Thoubal and Kakching districts.
Another official said the administration has temporarily suspended internet services in seven districts after protesters stormed the residences of Manipur ministers and MLAs. Apart from the chief minister’s son-in-law Imo, the protesters also damaged the properties of BJP MLA Sapam Kunjakesor and MLA Joykishan Singh, he said. The protesters also surrounded the residences of Janata Dal (United) MLA T. Arun from Wangkhei seat and BJP MLA Karam Shyam from Langthabal, the official said.

Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi has ordered temporary suspension of internet and mobile data services in Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Kangpokpi and Churachandpur districts for two days from 5.15 pm on Saturday. The Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), the apex body representing civil society organizations of Imphal Valley, has demanded military action against the militants within 24 hours. Officials said militants set fire to at least two churches and three houses in Jiribam town overnight.
