mayawati called congress impatience as selfish politics on ambedkar

Lucknow. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mayawati on Sunday reacted to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s alleged derogatory remarks about Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in Parliament and said that Congress’s impatience on this issue. This is pure deceit and politics of selfishness.

BSP chief Mayawati wrote on social media platform The haste of the Congress, which always hurts the struggle, regarding this is pure deception and selfish politics.”

Taking aim at the Congress as well as the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Mayawati wrote that various parties, including the Congress and the BJP, are on the same page in doing selfish politics of seeking votes from Baba Saheb’s followers. He said that in order to stop the caravan of self-respect of Baba Saheb from moving forward, all the parties are engaged in a conspiracy to hurt the BSP.

The BSP chief said that in fact, the great saints, gurus and great men born in the Bahujan community including Baba Saheb could get full respect and honor only in the BSP government, which was not digested by the “casteist parties”. Targeting the Samajwadi Party (SP), Mayawati said, “Especially the SP had even changed the names of new districts, new institutions and public welfare schemes etc. out of malice.”

The Congress on Tuesday demanded an apology from Home Minister Amit Shah for his remarks about Ambedkar in the Rajya Sabha during the discussion on the Constitution. The opposition party alleged that the remarks showed that there is “a lot of hatred” among Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders towards BR Ambedkar. After this, Congress also launched a movement against Shah.
