Met Dept says, intense rain and snowfall over Himalayan regions likely to decrease from March 3

India Meteorological Department, IMD has forecast intense rainfall and snowfall accompanied with thunderstorms and lightning over Western Himalayan Region till Sunday (3rd March 20124) and to decrease thereafter. It has also predicted light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms and lightning over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh till today. The IMD further added that isolated light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms and lightning is also expected over Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh till tomorrow and over Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till 4th of this month.

Meanwhile, many parts of the national capital today received light to moderate rainfall bringing the the day temperature below normal. The maximum temperature was recorded 25 degree Celsius which is two degree below normal while the minimum settled at 18 degree Celsius, 5 notches above the normal.

The weatherman has predicted generally cloudy sky in Delhi with the possibility of light drizzle in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be hovering around 26 and 15 degree Celsius.
