Monday is the last day of campaigning for the Delhi assembly elections. Voting will be held on February 5 in the national capital and the election results will be declared on 8 February. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is confident of coming to power for the third consecutive time on the strength of its promises and welfare schemes.

According to an official statement, Delhi Metro will start its services at 4:00 am on the day of voting of Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 and counting. The statement said that Delhi Metro will start its services on all lines at 4:00 am on Wednesday (February 5) and Saturday (February 8) to help people reach polling stations on time. It states that trains will operate at a interval of 30 minutes by 6:00 am to ensure smooth journey for passengers, after which a regular timetable will be followed for the remaining day.

On the last day of campaigning on Monday, ‘AAP’ leader Arvind Kejriwal addressed rallies in three areas including Delhi Chief Minister Atishi constituency Kalkaji. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who came out with the intention of gaining power in Delhi after more than 25 years, held 22 road shows and rallies in the city.

On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda and several Chief Ministers of the party campaigned. The Congress, which failed to win any seat in the last two elections, also tried to strengthen its position. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra did separate road shows in Kalkaji and Kasturba Nagar with the aim of regaining the party’s lost land in the capital. According to the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi, 1.56 crore voters will exercise their franchise at 13,766 polling stations, including 83.76 lakh men, 72.36 lakh women and 1,267 ‘third gender’ voters.
