Maharashtra Elections 2024: Only time will tell who will win in the Maharashtra elections, but the way statements are being made are worth watching. All the parties in the fray are busy exposing each other. In the name of election war of words, the public is also getting to know many big secrets. The latest statement has been made by Rahul Gandhi against PM Modi. In view of Maharashtra elections, Rahul Gandhi has raised questions about PM Modi’s age and his memory. Launching a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said Modi is experiencing “memory loss”. Rahul Gandhi compared PM Modi with US President Joe Biden. Citing an example in which a US President mistakenly identified Ukraine’s President as the leader of Russia during a NATO summit, Gandhi compared Modi’s behavior to political mistakes abroad. He said he forgets who said what, just like that President. Gandhi made the comment without directly naming Joe Biden. Rahul Gandhi has a huge fan following in America. His statement is in the headlines there too.
Addressing an election rally in Amravati ahead of the November 20 assembly elections, Rahul criticized the BJP for alleged constitutional violations and accused the party of misleading the public on key issues. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said, “My sister told me that she has heard Modi ji’s speech. And in that speech, whatever we say, Modi ji is saying the same thing these days. I don’t know. Maybe He has lost his memory. Former American Presidents used to forget and had to be reminded from behind.
The President of Ukraine came and the President of America said that Russian President Putin has come. He lost his memory. Similarly, our Prime Minister has lost his memory.” He said that 74-year-old Modi has been saying in his speeches that the Congress is attacking the Constitution. He said, “For the last one year, I have been saying in my speeches that the BJP is attacking the Constitution. Is attacking. But, PM Modi is saying that Congress is attacking the Constitution. He realized that people were getting angry and now they are saying that I am attacking the Constitution.” The 54-year-old Congress MP said, “I had told him in the Lok Sabha also that the Congress and the India Bloc would oppose the limit of 50 per cent reservation. Will eliminate. I told them that you have lost your memory, but still they are saying that Rahul Gandhi is against reservation.”
Rahul Gandhi once again advocated caste census across the country and urged the Modi government to conduct it. He further said, “I asked Modi ji to conduct caste census. The country should know how many Dalits, tribals and OBCs there are in the country. In the next meeting he will say that I am against caste census.” The Congress, part of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), wants to take advantage of its stellar performance in the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra and oust the Mahayuti alliance, comprising Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, BJP and Ajit Pawar, from power in the upcoming assembly elections. NCP is included. There are 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra and voting will be held in a single phase on November 20. Counting of votes will take place after three days.
