The world is looking with optimism towards India’s ancient natural and traditional medicine system for the treatment of infection with another new Chinese virus, Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), because it also plays a role in the diagnosis of Corona, the biggest and most horrific epidemic in human history. Has been effective and efficient. Undoubtedly, modern medical system has brought unprecedented health advancement and medical revolution due to research and huge capital investment. Despite this, even in modern times, natural and traditional medical methods remain effective for incurable diseases. The acceptance of Indian traditional medical systems has increased not only in India but also in foreign countries. According to the data released by the Ministry of AYUSH, the size of the AYUSH market which was $ 2.8 billion in 2014 has increased to $ 43.4 billion by last year. Not only this, the export of natural medical products has also doubled. Which shows the international acceptability of this method. That means they are being recognized as a complementary therapy. In view of these conditions, if there is coordination between modern science and traditional medicine, then a new path for the welfare of humanity will open.
Naturopathy system is a creative method of treatment, whose aim is to eliminate the root cause of disease and increase immunity by proper use of elements available in abundance in nature. It is not only a medical system but also a lifestyle in accordance with the internal vital forces or natural elements present in the human body. This is a complete revolution in the art and science of life. In this, natural food, especially fresh fruits and raw and lightly cooked vegetables, play a decisive role in the treatment of various diseases. Yoga, meditation and balanced lifestyle are the basis of this treatment. Naturopathy is especially a boon for poor people and poor countries. That is why, due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s ancient health knowledge, which has been marginalized for centuries, has been widely established in the country and abroad in the last decade and Indian Naturopathy, Ayurveda, Yoga have been spread in the world. Is. Due to severe poverty in India, Mahatma Gandhi, realizing the importance of health in the company of nature, gave prestige to natural and traditional medical methods in the country. Even today his followers are involved in this campaign across the country. It is important that efforts are made to harmonize traditional knowledge of quality and authenticity gained from centuries of experience and modern medical practice.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Report on Traditional and Complementary Medicine (2019), the various systems of traditional medicine used around the world include acupuncture, herbal medicines, indigenous traditional medicine, homeopathy, traditional Chinese medicine, naturopathy, , Chiropractic, Osteopathy, Ayurveda and Unani treatments. 170 WHO member states report on the use of traditional medicine by their populations. Artificial intelligence (AI), too, is revolutionizing the study and practice of traditional healing systems. The term AYUSH is an acronym for Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa and Homeopathy. On this basis, the Ministry of AYUSH has been formed in the Government of India to make natural and traditional medical systems relevant in modern times. The efforts of this ministry, while expanding the AYUSH market, have also helped in increasing health awareness and treatment. Due to this, employment and entrepreneurship have also reached new heights. On one hand, employment has increased due to the production of Ayurvedic medicines, on the other hand, the herbs, fruits and organic products used in it have also strengthened the rural economy. More or less, the export of materials related to yoga has also increased rapidly. Due to the efforts of the Prime Minister, Yoga, Ayurveda, Indian food and lifestyle have received global recognition.
The World Health Organization, in partnership with the Government of India, organized the first Traditional Medicine Global Summit last year in Gandhinagar city of Gujarat state, India, to address serious health challenges and advance progress in global health and sustainable development. Recognizing the usefulness of medicine, many plans were agreed to expand it. The World Health Organization and the Government of India also signed an agreement to establish a global center to realize the potential inherent in traditional medicine through modern science and technology and this center will be built in Jamnagar city of Gujarat state. With the help, a plan to improve the health of the common people and ensure connectivity and benefits in every region of the world is beginning to take shape.
The irony of the new world is that poverty has also expanded in the shadow of rapid development. Expensive modern medical systems are becoming beyond the reach of the poor. The government medical system is collapsing due to the heavy burden of patients. In such a situation, if people get health benefits by improving lifestyle, awareness and physical activity, then no one should have any problem. It must be accepted as a complementary medicine. It is pleasant that we have moved in this direction, albeit late. Getting the recognition of our Ayurvedic products from the World Health Organization is also a big achievement. In this direction, joint efforts are necessary to move ahead by establishing coordination with modern medicine. This is an opportune time for research on traditional medical products and methods. People around the world are turning to alternative treatments. Due to this, more research and more evidence is emerging and the results of the research are looking very promising. In addition to ancient cultures’ exploitation of natural resources for healing, traditional community-based health practices are also of unprecedented importance in combating modern diseases. The development of the smallpox vaccine is a powerful example of this.
In view of the increasing attraction and trend towards natural and traditional medical systems of India, it becomes necessary that we pay special attention to the quality of AYUSH products. Let us also test them on the basis of science. India’s traditional medical system is becoming capable and effective in providing global medical and health solutions, so we should focus on extensive research, research and experimentation on it. In fact, Indian traditional medical systems like Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Yoga, Siddha etc. have been based on the belief that instead of suppressing a disease, its causes should be treated. Traditional medicine is seen as a practice from a pre-scientific era, replaced by modern, better, science-based medicine. However, modern science and medicine emerged from traditional products and practices that have a long history. Today, about 40 percent of pharmaceutical products come from nature and traditional knowledge, including many important medicines.
The basis of natural and traditional medical methods is our thoughts, eating habits and natural life, which does not allow diseases to flourish, if any disease still occurs, its cheap, simple, effective and easy treatment is available in the traditional medical system. Which strengthens our immunity. By expanding and strengthening the natural and traditional medical systems, we should not ignore the modern medical system but by coordinating them, we should make a revolution in the direction of making humans healthy. Certainly, if there is a shining combination of coordination of science and tradition, then it will be easier to achieve the goal of removing the concern of increasing diseases and epidemics.
