Lies have no legs and when the truth is revealed, the lie bows its head. Now the news that has come is proving this saying to be true. The reaction of the New Zealand government to the so-called referendum on Khalistan held recently in New Zealand proved that the truth of those who spread lies and hatred cannot be hidden for long. Khalistani organization SFJ which is banned in India under the Unlawful Activities Act UAPA. Such referendums are being organized in different countries of the world. Earlier, this organization had also organized similar shows in countries like Canada, Australia and Britain which are part of anti-India agenda. SFJ organized this so-called referendum in its support in Auckland, New Zealand. However, the New Zealand government immediately made it clear that such events are against its policy and international relations.

The New Zealand government said that we respect India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. We are also supporters of human rights. But there should be Vaidya and peaceful ones. This reaction clearly shows that the Khalistani agenda is not only illegal but it is also not getting any support on the international platform. Pakistani media put all its strength in covering this so-called referendum of Khalistan. Pakistani channels tried to present it in exaggerated form. But the truth is that this is only a part of anti-India propaganda. Pakistan, which itself is violating human rights in Balochistan and other provinces, is trying to divert attention through such false campaigns. Relations between India and New Zealand have always been positive and strong. Recently, several meetings were held between Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and New Zealand Foreign Minister Peters.

New Zealand’s Foreign Ministry said it was aware of the so-called ‘referendum’ and that the country was “a strong supporter of human rights at home and around the world”, provided such initiatives were lawful and peaceful. SFJ has been conducting similar referendums in other countries such as Canada, Australia and the UK. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters met several times this year, including earlier this month. The key areas of conversation have been on education, technology, agriculture, mobility and the situation in the Indo-Pacific.
