Delhi Pollution Control Committee has issued an order imposing a complete ban on the manufacture, storage and sale of all types of firecrackers in the area of NCT of Delhi till 01.01.2025. This also includes delivery and bursting of all types of crackers through online marketing platforms. Earlier, state Environment Minister Gopal Rai had said that the ban, imposed under relevant sections of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, will apply to the production, storage, sale and use of all firecrackers, including green crackers.

He had said that in view of such a situation, like last year, this time also a complete ban is being imposed on the production, storage, sale and use of all types of firecrackers so that people can be protected from pollution. There will also be a complete ban on online delivery or sale of any type of firecrackers.
Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister P.K. Mishra on Friday expressed concern over the slow progress in clearing landfill sites in the national capital and delay in implementation of waste-to-energy projects. Mishra chaired the meeting of the high-level task force to tackle Delhi’s air pollution. He called for strengthening the dust control system at construction sites and better waste management.
