In the 2024 Uttar Pradesh by-election results, the BJP-led alliance achieved a major victory by winning seven out of nine seats. Samajwadi Party (SP) was successful in winning two constituencies. Major wins for the BJP include Ghaziabad and Khair constituencies, further strengthening its presence in the state. While there is celebration in BJP regarding this, Samajwadi Party is now raising questions. Now SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has tweeted regarding the by-election results.
Akhilesh Yadav wrote on X that the tactics of those who made ‘election’ synonymous with ‘corruption’ have been captured in photographs and exposed to the world. The world, the country and Uttar Pradesh saw the most distorted form of electoral politics in this by-election. He said that there may be a time for untruth but not an era. He wrote that now the real struggle has started… Make fists, tano fists and PDAs and proclaim ‘If we join, we will win!’

The former Chief Minister wrote that heartfelt gratitude and heartfelt thanks to all the voters, supporters, workers and leaders for making both the candidates of Samajwadi Party win as joint candidates of India Alliance in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. He said that hearty congratulations to Mr. Abu Asim Azmi from Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar Assembly seat and Mr. Raees Kasam Shaikh from Bhinwadi East Assembly seat for their victory. This is a victory for PDA unity!

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his gratitude towards the voters after the spectacular performance of the BJP-led NDA in the UP by-elections. The party is leading on 7 out of 9 assembly seats, while the Samajwadi Party is leading on two. In his first reaction, CM Yogi credited the victory to the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He described the results as a reflection of the people’s unwavering faith in the security, good governance and public welfare policies of the double engine government.
