London . Former England all -rounder Moin Ali strongly criticized the rules in favor of the batsmen, leading to the end of the 50 -over format to end, increasing the number of players playing ‘Freelance’ (independent) in the T20 league. Moin has played 138 ODIs for England in which he has taken 111 wickets in addition to scoring 2,355 runs while he has scored more than 3000 runs in 68 Tests and has taken more than 200 wickets. He retired from international cricket in September last year and will play for Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL).
Moin told TalkSport Cricket, “This ODI format is almost completely over, except for the World Cup and Champions Trophy. This is the worst format to play and I think there are many reasons for this. “In earlier times, after the first powerplay, there used to be five fielders outside the circle, but in the last few years this number has become four, which has made it easier to bat in the middle overs. Not only this, two new balls are used which did not happen earlier, which makes it very easy to score.
He said, “I think the rules are very bad. After the first powerplay, keeping additional fielders, I think it is a bad rule to take wickets and create any kind of pressure. For this reason, now players are making an average of 60 and 70 in ODI cricket. “He said,” When you are bowling someone and you put a little pressure, the batsman simply reverse-sweep and it is not a run but it is a surprise. ” There is always an option available for batsmen to score runs. “Moin warned that there are also cricketers who will retire from the amount found in the T20 league ahead of time.” He said, “I think the franchise cricket is attracting the amount received in it and it is so attractive that the players cannot deny it.” This is very difficult.
