On Saturday, around 1,000 rescue personnel have been deployed after landslides in Jinping village of Junallian County. Government broadcasters CCTV said that the officials are seeking the help of drones and radars to find out the living people trapped in the debris.
CCTV reported that after 10 houses and a manufacturing building became grounded, two injured were rescued and about 360 others were evacuated. At a press conference on Sunday, officials said that according to preliminary assessment, the disaster came due to heavy rains and local geological conditions. Rescue operations have been obstructed due to continuous rains and landslides. According to government news agency Xinhua, Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Liu Guozhong reached the spot to guide the rescue operation and went to meet the affected people.
