President Draupadi Murmu presented 4 Padma Vibhushan, 10 Padma Bhushan and 57 Padma Shri Awards for the year 2025 in the Civil Acadequation Ceremony-I held at the Republic of Rashtrapati Bhavan. This year on January 25, on the eve of 76th Republic Day, a total of 139 eminent persons were nominated for the country’s civil awards – Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. Murmu honored 71 prominent personalities including former Suzuki Motor’s former head late Osamu Suzuki, famous singer late Pankaj Udhas and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar late Sushil Kumar Modi.

People who received civil honors attended the ceremony adorned with stars, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present. Senior actor and director Shekhar Kapoor, Asian Institute of Gastroenterology and AIG Hospitals President D. Nageshwar Reddy, Violin player Laxminarayan Subramanyam and Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna, also known as Balaiya, are among the other prominent personalities, who were awarded the Padma Awards by the President.
Among those who received the awards, four got Padma Vibhushan – Suzuki (posthumously), Subramaniam, Reddy and Malayalam writer and film director M.T. Vasudevan Nair (posthumously). A total of 10 prestigious persons were awarded the Padma Bhushan. Among them, Pankaj Udhas (posthumous), Sushil Kumar Modi (posthumously), Balakrishna Kapoor, former hockey player P.R. Sreejesh, Tamil actor S. Ajit Kumar, Chairperson Pankaj Patel, Chairman of Zidas Lifesains, and Indian-American Engineer Vinod Dham, who are known as the ‘father of Pentium’.

Famous para athletics coach Dr. Satyapal Singh received the Padma Shri Award from President Draupadi for his contribution in the field of sports. 96 -year -old puppet artist Bhimvwa Doddbalappa Shillekyathara received the Padma Shri Award from President Draupadi Murmu for his contribution in the field of art. Famous American writer and researcher Stephen Nap and singer Jaspinder Narula received the Padma Shri Award for his writing on Vedic culture and spirituality. Hriday Narayan Dixit, former president of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, received the Padma Shri Award from President Draupadi Murmu for his contribution in the field of literature and education.
