Pakistan Army Chief Aseem Munir has recently claimed that India has attacked Pakistan twice without any provocation. He described it as India’s ‘worrying lack of strategic foresight’. Munir, while holding India responsible for increasing regional tension, vowed that Pakistan would give a decisive answer to any Indian invasion in the future.
Speaking at the Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi on Saturday, Munir described Pakistan as a country with ‘pure regional stability’. He claimed that Islamabad has responded to the Indian military invasion of ‘without any provocation’. “Despite provoking, Pakistan introduced restraint and maturity, and confirmed its commitment to regional peace,” Munir said.
Munir also accused India that when Pakistan was getting closer to the end of terrorism, India was deliberately causing tension in the region.

Munir’s statement on Kashmir issue
In his latest address, Aseem Munir also raised the Kashmir issue. He claimed that ‘at a time, we should remember the sacrifices of our Kashmiri brothers who are struggling against the illegal occupation of India.’ He said, “Pakistan is a strong supporter of the justified solution of the Kashmir issue according to the United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.”

‘Throat vein’ comment and later events
Significantly, a few days before the Pakistan -backed Pahalgam terror attacks, Munir rejoined the most dangerous rivalry in the region by calling Kashmir a ‘sore vein’ of Islamabad. Addressing Pakistani migrants living abroad, Munir said, “Kashmir is the vein of our throat, it will be the vein of our throat, we will not forget it.”
Munir’s comment with this ‘throat vein’ comment, barely a week later, Pakistan -backed militants brutally murdered more than two dozen male tourists in Kashmir’s beautiful Pahalgam. In response, India postponed the Indus Water Treaty, which was a major setback for its neighbor. This was followed by Operation Sindoor, in which terrorist bases inside Pakistan were targeted and destroyed.
