Former Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad has expressed disappointment over the Indian government’s decision of not sending Team India to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The ICC has informed the Pakistan Cricket Board through an official email that the Indian team will not come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy and the Board has sent this information to the Pakistan Government.
Many former veterans of Pakistan have not liked India’s stand regarding the Champions Trophy. Former captain Javed Miandad termed the Indian government’s stand as a joke and said that Pakistan could not only survive but also flourish without Indian cricket.
The news agency quoted Miandad as saying that it is a joke that this is happening. Even if we don’t play India at all, Pakistan cricket will not only survive but also prosper, as we have shown in the past. I want to see how ICC earns money when there are no matches between Pakistan and India.
Ever since Pakistan won the rights to host the Champions Trophy 2025, concerns were raised over India’s willingness to travel to Pakistan. They had previously hosted the Asia Cup 2023, but Team India’s matches were moved to Sri Lanka following India’s reluctance to travel to Pakistan. However, despite this, Pakistan toured India for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. India last toured Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2008 and relations between the two countries turned sour after the horrific 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai.
