The Union Cabinet paid homage to the victims suffering during the Emergency. The cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi also kept a two -minute silence in honor of those who were constitutionally taken away and who had suffered countless sufferings under a ruling rule. The Cabinet reiterated its commitment to maintain the values inherent in the constitution and ensure that the horrors of the Emergency would never be forgotten. The event is a symbol of the 50th anniversary of the Emergency and gives a powerful reminiscent of their unwavering faith in the flexibility and democratic ideals of Indian people.
