President Murmu hosts dinner in honor of newly appointed Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna

President Draupadi Murmu on Monday hosted a dinner in honor of newly appointed Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna. During this, the main attractions were the presentation of selected dishes of Western India and rare folk music narrating age-old stories of bravery.

The guests’ tables were decorated with two traditional textiles – Patola from Gujarat and Paithani from Maharashtra. Officials said all these arrangements are part of the continuous efforts to showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage during grand dinners and other official functions hosted by the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Justice Sanjiv Khanna was sworn in as the 51st Chief Justice of India on Monday. President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to Justice Khanna at the swearing-in ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

He asked Justice D.Y. Chandrachud has been replaced. “President Draupadi Murmu hosted a dinner at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Center in honor of the newly appointed Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna,” Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a post sharing pictures of the event on social media platform ‘X’.

It said, “Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, former Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and other dignitaries including judges of the Supreme Court and chief justices of high courts also attended the dinner.
