Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the event of ‘Defconnect 4.0’ on Monday. It will bring together the armed forces, defense public sector companies, innovators and policy makers to discuss ways to advance indigenous innovation. During this, Rajnath said that we are living in an era where we address the world as a global village. Where we feel that the distances between people have now reduced. In other words, we are living in the era of information technology, where information from a person sitting a thousand kilometers away reaches us in seconds.

Rajnath Singh said that today we are living amidst different types of wars and possibilities of wars. New technologies are constantly being incorporated in these wars. These include not only conventional weapons and ammunition being used, but a variety of dual-use, or even entirely civilian items and technologies. They are being made weapons. He said that in such a situation we have to understand these types of technical applications in depth. We have to look at how we can use these technologies imaginatively to protect ourselves.
He clearly said that here, I am not talking about merely copying the applications of other war-torn parties. Moving on from this, I would like to draw your attention towards those systems or applications which are new and ours. He also said that till now in iDEX DISC, or such scheme, we give you different challenges, and you give the solution. These solutions, of course, depend on the challenge you are given, and are therefore specific. But I want you all to go beyond these solutions and bring innovations like technologies which are far beyond what is needed till now, and they become a necessity for our defense and services.

The Defense Minister said that when this starts happening, I think this platform will become a platform for two-way dialogue and we will come out more successful. He said that a big task like self-reliance cannot be done by the government alone. Rather, for this we need the support of all the stakeholders associated with it. I am happy to say that till now you all have walked step by step with the government. At the same time, I also believe that this connection of all of us will become stronger in the future and together we will work for the betterment of India.
Will make the defense ecosystem the strongest and most modern in the world.
