After the announcement of the dates of Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024, all the political parties have entered the electoral fray with their respective strategies. The candidates of all the parties and alliances have also been announced. Election campaign is at its peak in the state. Ratnagiri seat of the state is considered very important. However, like most of the seats in Maharashtra, there is a direct contest between Mahavikas Aghadi and Mahayuti on Ratnagiri seat also. But looking at the circumstances here, Mahayuti seems to have the upper hand on this seat.
Let us tell you that voting is to be held on all 288 seats of Maharashtra on 20 November 2024. The results will be announced on 23rd November. The real contest in Maharashtra is between the Mahayuti alliance and the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance. Where on one side there is BJP, NCP and Shiv Sena. At present this alliance is in power. On the other hand, there is Congress, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) and NCP (Sharad Pawar).

Electoral history of Ratnagiri
In the year 2019, Ratnagiri assembly seat went to Shiv Sena. Shiv Sena’s Uday Ravindra Samant defeated Congress party’s Sudesh Sadanand Mayekar by 87,335 votes. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BJP candidate Narayan Rane won by defeating Shiv Sena’s (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Vinayak Bhaurao Raut by a margin of 47,858 votes.
Will Uday be able to hit a four to win again?
Uday Ravindra Samant has been MLA from Ratnagiri Assembly seat for the last three times. In the years 2019 and 2014, Uday had won on Shiv Sena ticket and in 2009 on NCP ticket. His popularity is continuously increasing and it is believed that this time he would like to score a victory again. Before Uday Ravindra Samant, Balasaheb Pandurang Patil had dominance here. Whereas BJP or Congress could not do anything special on this seat. Whereas BJP candidate has not won from here. Whereas Congress had won in the years 1980 and 1990.
