Chennai bought Ashwin at a price many times more than the base price. Ashwin got Rs 9.75 crore. Ashwin is an all-rounder player and has performed brilliantly on many occasions. He was earlier a part of Rajasthan Royals.
CSK had made the first bid for Ashwin in the mega auction. After this, Lucknow Super Giants also bid. But the Lucknow team managed only Rs 3.40 crore. After this Rajasthan Royals bid. Rajasthan tried till Rs 9.50 crore but in the end Chennai won.
Talking about Ashwin’s IPL career, he has played 211 matches in which he has scored 800 runs. While he has also taken 180 wickets in his name. Ashwin had taken 9 wickets in 15 matches last season. He took 14 wickets in 13 matches of IPL 2023. Ashwin has made a splash in IPL as well as international cricket.
