Rishabh Pant was sold as the most expensive player in IPL history. He was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 27 crore. At the same time, a question is arising in the minds of the fans whether Pant will get the entire Rs 27 crore? If he gets injured, how much amount will he get?
Let us tell you that Rishabh Pant will not get the entire Rs 27 crore. Actually, the players were bid in the IPL 2025 auction and they have signed a 3-year contract with the franchise. This means that the price at which Pant was purchased will be paid to him for a period of 3 years. Pant has been bought for Rs 27 crores, so he will be given this salary for three seasons. Lucknow has bought Pant for Rs 27 crores, out of which around Rs 8.1 crore tax will be deducted. That means Pant will get only Rs 18.9 crore as net salary from LSG for 3 years.
On the other hand, if Pant gets injured during the IPL, he will get the full salary fixed for the season. However, if any injury occurs before the tournament which makes it difficult for him to participate in the IPL, the franchise has the right to include another player in his place. Foreign players are not compensated in case of injury before the tournament. If an Indian player gets injured while playing for Team India and is not available for the IPL, then he gets the salary for the entire season under the insurance policy of the board.
Also, if an Indian or foreign player has a contract with the IPL franchise for the entire tournament, but does not play a single match, he is still entitled to receive his full salary. However, if a player withdraws from the tournament due to personal reasons, he will be paid based on the number of matches played. Similarly, if a player gets injured during the tournament then the franchise will have to pay the entire contracted amount.
