Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov reiterated Moscow’s commitment to support efforts to normalize relations between India and China. Peskov said that we are ready to contribute in every possible way to the normalization of relations between the two countries. Speaking to ANI, Peskov stressed Russia’s neutral stance and highlighted its role as a host during the recent bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan, Russia. We are glad that the two leaders had the opportunity to hold their bilateral meeting in Kazan. This was really good news for everyone in the world. But again, this was a bilateral initiative by India and China.

Additionally, Peskov confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India is being planned, with dates being finalized at the moment. Peskov said that I hope that soon we will work out the exact dates of his visit. Of course, after Prime Minister Modi’s two visits to Russia, we now have the President’s visit to India, so we are looking forward to that. The visit will be Putin’s first visit to India since the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022.

Recently, Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan in October. PM Modi invited Putin to visit India for the 23rd India-Russia annual summit next year. The two leaders reviewed bilateral cooperation in various fields including political, economic, defence, energy and people-to-people relations, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a press release.
