In view of Maharashtra Assembly elections, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar addressed a press conference in Mumbai on Sunday. During this, he said that after the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack, there was no reaction from India, but if such an incident happens again, it will not happen now. Let us tell you, the nomination process for 288 seats of Maharashtra Assembly has started and voting will be held on November 20 and the results will be declared on November 23.
Speaking to reporters, Jaishankar said, ‘Mumbai is a symbol of anti-terrorism operations for India and the world. When we were members of the UNSC, we were the Chairman of the Anti-Terrorism Committee. We held the Security Council meeting for the first time in the hotel in Mumbai where the terrorist attack took place.
Jaishankar said, ‘People know that India stands strongly against terrorism. Today we are leaders in fighting terrorism. He said, ‘When we talk about zero tolerance for terrorism, it is clear that when someone does something, it will be responded to. It is not acceptable that you are bargaining during the day and terrorizing at night and I have to pretend that everything is fine. Now India will not accept this. This is the change.
Jaishankar said, ‘We will expose terrorism and where we have to take action, we will take action.’ Jaishankar also said that India and China will soon resume patrolling along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, thereby restoring order as before the border standoff began in April 2020. Jaishankar said, ‘We hope that the patrolling system before October 31, 2020 will be restored in areas like Demchok and Depsang. This will take some time.
Rejecting the allegations of shifting investments from Maharashtra to Gujarat, Jaishankar on Sunday said, ‘In the last 10 years, all the projects have not come to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled states. Investors have their own calculations and will choose a state government that is capable and efficient.
