Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been criticized by Bangladesh’s interim chief advisor Muhammad Yunus. Yunus, a favorite of fundamentalists, complied with India to stop the online speeches of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. However, Dhaka’s request was ignored. Yunus claims that this is provoking anger all over Bangladesh. Recently, while speaking during a discussion at Chautham House in London, Younus recalled the conversation with PM Modi. Yunus, while referring to Hasina’s address to India, said that when I got a chance to talk to Prime Minister Modi, I just said that you want to host her, I cannot force you to give up that policy… but please help us ensure that she does not talk to Bangladeshi people as she is doing.

Reacting to the response, Younus said, what can you say? This is an explosive situation, you cannot escape by saying that it is social media. When asked whether India is doing what Bangladesh had expected, Younus responded without any hesitation: No. He confirmed that Bangladesh has written a letter to the Government of India requesting the extradition of Hasina, and legal proceedings are already going on.
