sunil gavaskar said virat kohli and rohit sharma will not play 2027 one day world cup

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have recently retired from Test cricket. Both players have already retired from T20 International. Both will now be seen playing just ODI cricket. Two years later, 2027 ODI World Cup is to be played. It is believed that both will take retirement after playing the World Cup. During this, former veteran Sunil Gavaskar believes that both will not play in the ODI World Cup.

Rohit announced his retirement from Test cricket on 7 May. At the same time, Kohli has said goodbye to Test cricket on 12 May. Both players retired from T20 International after winning the T20 World Cup last year.

Rohit and Kohli will now be seen playing just ODI cricket. The goal of both the players will be to win the ODI World Cup in 2027 and declare retired from cricket. In such a situation, Gavaskar has kept the World Cup in view and said that both those players will not be part of this tournament.

Actually, according to India Today, Gavaskar said that both players are the best players of this format. He said that but the question is whether the two players who have been playing for the last three years, will they be able to play in the same way?

Gavaskar further said that, he has been a great performance in this format of the game, again the Selection Committee will probably be monitored on the 2027 ODI World Cup, they will see will they be able to join the team of 2027 ODI World Cup? Will they be able to contribute the way they have been contributing, this will be the thinking of the selection committee. If the selection committee thinks yes they are capable then both will be there.
