A teenager admitted for foot operation at Meerut’s Government Medical College was allegedly raped by another patient who has been arrested. A police officer gave this information on Monday.
Confirming the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada told PTI that the medical police station registered a report on the mother of the 15-year-old victim and arrested the accused on Sunday night.
The victim will be conducted medical examination today. According to police sources, the victim was admitted to the medical college for foot surgery on 20 June. In this ward, a youth named Mohit, a resident of Kashipur in Uttarakhand, was also admitted.
According to the victim’s mother, the teenager went to the toilet on the night of the incident, where Mohit’s brother Rohit raped her and threatened to kill her for protesting. According to the complaint, the teenager did not say anything for two days due to fear, but then she informed her mother about the whole incident on Sunday evening, after which a complaint was given for the case in the medical police station.
Medical police station in-charge Sheelish Kumar Yadav told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ that the accused Rohit (20) has been arrested. Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Ayush Vikram Singh said that the role of employees on duty in the case is being investigated and CCTV footage is being investigated. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
