Hyderabad. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the state government will not accept the donation of Rs 100 crore by Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani for the ‘Young India Skills University’ being set up here. Addressing a press conference, he said the decision was taken because Adani’s announcement led to unnecessary discussion that if the donation was accepted, it might appear in favor of the state government or the Chief Minister. He said that till now the Telangana government has not accepted a single rupee in its account from any organization including the Adani Group.
“I and my cabinet colleagues do not want to get involved in such unnecessary discussions and situations which may harm the image of the state government or me,” Reddy said. That is why our officer Jayesh Ranjan, on behalf of the state government, has written a letter to Adani.” He said, ”It is written in the letter that due to the (current) situation and controversies, the Telangana government is withdrawing the Rs. 100 generously given by you (Adani). Reddy said the letter clearly requested the Adani Foundation not to transfer Rs 100 crore to the university.
