Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections have once again proved that women have played a major role in changing the election results in the world’s largest democracy. 6 percent more voting of women in Maharashtra Assembly elections has completely changed the election results. The Congress-led Maha Aghadi alliance in Maharashtra was very excited about the results of the Lok Sabha elections held earlier this year and were almost assuming that the Maharashtra election results would be in their favor. Due to excessive self-confidence, they were not able to give proper direction and understanding to the election campaign and the result was that the BJP led alliance broke all the records of victory. Believe it or not, there is no doubt that women played a major role in changing the election results. Ladli Brahmin Yojana, which started from Madhya Pradesh and reached Maharashtra, changed the entire atmosphere when the Maharashtra government implemented the Majhi Ladki Brahmin Yojana this year and released three installments in the accounts of the targeted women even before the elections. The opposition opposed the launch of the scheme and even filed PILs in the court, but the court upholding the scheme and the money coming directly into their accounts boosted confidence in the government among women, while the Maha Aghadi alliance was unable to understand this scheme related to women. They delayed it and even if they later promised to give more money in the election manifesto or in election promises, they could not win the trust of the women. The results are visible and women expressed more confidence that what is being received will be increased. If seen in true sense, women power has emerged as a game changer. It has even been said that power will go to those who have women with them.
The increasing active participation of women in elections in India, the world’s largest democratic country, is praiseworthy. In the last elections, whether of Lok Sabha or State Assemblies, women voters of the country have played an important role in forming the new government. The interesting thing is that female voters have voted more vocally than male voters in the elections. Now it is being believed that in about a dozen states of the country, women’s votes have started playing a big role in the formation of the new government. The positive side of the picture is that women have come forward not only in voting but also in actively participating in the elections and expressing their candidature in the elections. While 22 women MPs were elected in the general elections of the first and second Lok Sabha of the country, 74 women MPs were elected in the last 2024 general elections. However, despite the political parties making new efforts to bring half the population into the mainstream, the participation of women at the time of ticket distribution remains less. Experience shows that no political party gives tickets to women, let alone half of them, even on one-third of the seats. This time, 50 women were given tickets in Maharashtra elections and 21 women have won the elections and become MLAs.

The best thing is that whether it is village or city, women are no longer confined to the four walls of the house or vote as per the orders of men. Today the women of the country have come out of the situation of agreeing with men. Women have started actively participating in the entire election process. If she expresses her candidacy in elections, she also registers her presence during the election campaign. On the other hand, she has also started taking part in voting. If seen, the party to which women expressed more trust or rather, the party to which they gave more votes, formed the government. The interesting thing is that
Now all the political parties are making every possible effort to bring women voters to their side. This is the reason that not only are schemes and programs being announced to woo women, but every possible effort is made to woo women voters in the upcoming election manifestos of political parties. Because one thing has become clear that today’s women are capable of taking their own decisions and cannot be influenced by pressure or in any other way. At least the election results are pointing in this direction. The interesting thing is that in Majhi Ladki Brahmin Yojana, women between 18 to 60 years with an income of Rs 2.50 lakh were included in this scheme. From this it becomes clear that this class belongs to women with weak economic income. Here it becomes clear that this class of women is the class in which it is believed that women in this class are more dependent on the decisions of men, but from the election results of Maharashtra and other states it has become clear that women are more dependent on men. That by mixing yes with no, she has started taking her own decisions and from that we present the latest results.
Well, this is a different matter, but it has become clear that women are playing a leading role in this great festival of democracy of the country. Now women voters cannot be underestimated. This can also be considered a good sign in the direction of women empowerment. This can be called a positive effort for both the country and democracy, while on the other hand, the women of India are emerging as an example for the countries of the world as well. There should be no exaggeration in this that if political parties want to taste power in future elections, they will have to keep an eye on women voters.
