It is also necessary to discuss the three ‘Lal’ of Haryana state. That means Devi Lal, Banshilal and Bhajanlal. For a long time, the politics of Haryana revolved around these three sons. But this time AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal boasted in the elections by calling himself the son of Haryana. This is the first time in the Haryana Assembly elections that a party has succeeded in gaining power for the third time. Congress seemed confident of its victory in Haryana. She was claiming to easily get majority in 90 seats in the state. Whereas BJP was being described as very weak. Amidst all this, the contest was being said to be triangular due to the entry of Aam Aadmi Party, which was in power in Delhi. Amidst the election bugle, Arvind Kejriwal gets bail from the Supreme Court. Firstly, while taking charge of the Haryana campaign on behalf of the party, Sunit Kejriwal is seen claiming Kejriwal’s guarantee from various forums. Then Kejriwal himself, who calls himself the son of Haryana, enters the fray. In Kejriwal’s home state Haryana, AAP contested the elections alone and fielded 89 candidates after failing to form an alliance with the Congress.

Haryana once again becomes an impregnable fort
AAP, which was in power in Delhi and Punjab adjacent to Haryana, had high expectations from the state. She was hoping to establish her foothold in Haryana. Despite running a high voltage campaign in Haryana, AAP did not get 1.77% vote share in the Hindi speaking state. These results are a big blow to the Arvind Kejriwal-led party ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections next February. Aam Aadmi Party leader Sandeep Pathak had claimed that those who are underestimating the Aam Aadmi Party will have to repent after the elections. But when the results came, Haryana once again remained impenetrable for the Kejriwal-led party, despite being located between Delhi and Punjab, ruled by the Aam Aadmi Party. Since its launch in 2014, AAP has failed to win a single seat in any assembly election or Lok Sabha election in Haryana.

Did you make a dent in the votes of Congress?
In 2019, AAP lost all the 46 seats it contested and got less vote share than NOTA. The party lost Kurukshetra, the only seat it contested in Haryana, as well as all four seats it contested in Delhi in the Lok Sabha elections. Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party has got 1.79 percent votes in Haryana assembly elections. It is believed that Arvind Kejriwal has made a dent in the Congress votes. If these votes had gone to Congress’s account, the election game would have changed on many seats and Congress could have come to power.
