Only a few days are left for the new year. On the occasion of New Year, many people visit temples and seek blessings from God. During this time, people also come to visit many big temples of the country. This also includes the Jagannath temple of Pura in Odisha.

The Odisha government is going to introduce a new arrangement at the Jagannath temple in Puri to provide better facilities to the devotees for darshan of the deities. This information has been given by Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan. Speaking to reporters, he said that the government is taking steps to introduce new arrangements for public darshan at Jagannath temple from January 1.

He said, “Necessary arrangements are being made. The necessary work will be completed by December 27 or 28. New arrangements will be started on an experimental basis for two days on December 30 and 31.” He said that the new darshan system will be fully implemented from January 1.

The minister said that under this step, special arrangements are also being made for women, children, disabled persons and senior persons visiting the temple. As per the new arrangement, devotees will enter the Jagannath temple through the existing gate (Satpahacha), while the exit will be through two different gates (Ghanti and Garda).

Harichandan said he and Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief administrator Arabinda Padhi visited the temple on Saturday and reviewed the work being done to start the new facility at the temple.
