Recently, the Supreme Court heard the death of students in Kota. Expressed concern over them. Students also termed the cases of suicide as serious and reprimanded the Rajasthan government, while action should be taken on the death of students across the country alone. These deaths should be investigated. Students across the country should consider suicides and preventing them.
In the student suicide case, the Supreme Court on Friday called the Supreme Court, during this period, the cases of students suicide in Kota were also serious and reprimanded the Rajasthan government. A bench of Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice R. Mahadevan in the Supreme Court said, “So far this year, 14 students have committed suicide in Kota. What are you doing about it as a state? Why are students committing suicide in Kota itself? Have you not considered it as a state? ‘ The Supreme Court made this remark during the hearing of the body of the student in Kota and the suicide case of the student of IAT Kharagpur. The Supreme Court has sought a response from the Rajasthan government in this matter. The next hearing will be held on 14 July.
On May 4, the body of a 17 -year -old student was found in Kota hostel a few hours before the NEET exam. On May 4, a 22 -year -old student studying in IIT Kharagpur was hanged in the hostel room. On May 6, the Supreme Court took cognizance of both these cases.

Regarding IIT Kharagpur suicide, the court said on May 14, they are taking cognizance to find out whether the administration has filed an FIR by following the instructions of the court issued in the ‘Amit Kumar and other vs India and other’ case. At the same time, the court sought an answer as to why the FIR was not registered. The hearing was held by a bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadevan. Along with this, the court had also directed the Central Government to deposit Rs 20 lakh in two days for the formation of NTF, the National Task Force for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.
Talking about the years, in 2024, 17 students living in Kota were suicide. There were 2 suicide in the month of January last year and 3 suicide in the month of February. In the year 2023, a total of 26 cases of student suicide were reported in Kota.
Dr. Satyakant Trivedi, member and psychiatrist of MP Suicide Prevention Task Force, said about the student suicide happening in Kota, ‘There is no reason for any suicide. All children are giving the same exam. In such a situation, mixed factors are responsible for suicide. This includes genetics causes, social causes, peer pressure, parents’ expectations, education mechanisms.
Dr. Trivedi says that somewhere we fail to teach children how to deal with stress, rejections or failure. Today the child is beginning to believe that his academic achievement is bigger than his existance. The child is not ready to leave the preparation, ready to leave life. The society has glorified competitive examinations very much, due to which the child feels that I will be fulfilled only when I will crack an exam.
The country has the highest number of students in cases of suicide every year. Talking about the data, 13,089 students committed suicide in the year 2021, while in 2022, 13,044 students committed suicide. A total of 33,020 students committed suicide during 2018 to 2020. India is a country of youth. More than 60 percent of the population here is young, but now in this country, a youth is giving his life every 40 minutes. These figures have been released by Student Suicide-N Epidemic Sweeping India Report. Actually, more than 35 students are committing suicide every day in the country. From 2018 to 2022, 59,153 students committed suicide in the country.

According to this report, where the suicide rate in India is increasing at the rate of two per cent every year, the suicide rate among students is increasing at the rate of four per cent every year. That is, the number of suicides in the country comes every year, the number of students is the highest. The country should make such an institution at any state level of senior psychologists, then check the mental level of students and students who have studied technical education from time to time. Consulting them. Consider their problems and guide the students properly, so that they do not commit suicide, learn to struggle with adverse situation. They should be taught the art of living life. If experts are considered, then coaching and technical education can also be associated with meditation or meditation. This will increase concentration towards the subject among the youth. Thinking power will develop. Negative thoughts will be less. This meditation or meditation will provide them new energy for the whole life.
