Toxic foam visible in Yamuna river near Kalindi Kunj in Delhi, pollution at worrying level

The level of pollution in the national capital Delhi has reached a very dangerous level. The level of pollution is continuously increasing here. Along with the pollution in the air, pollution in Yamuna river is also increasing. On Saturday, once again thick, poisonous foam was seen floating in the Yamuna river in Kalindi Kunj. Pollution levels in the Yamuna River in Delhi remain alarmingly high.

According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), on Saturday, there was a slight improvement in the air quality in Delhi compared to the day before and the Air Quality Index (AQI) was 237, which is still in the ‘poor’ category. Is. AQI 283 was recorded on Friday. Earlier today, in response to the BJP’s protest against water pollution in the Yamuna river, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain said the industrial waste polluting the river does not come from Delhi as there is “no water supply” in the national capital. There are no polluting industries”. Jain, who was released from jail this month after getting bail in a money laundering case, emphasized that the waste in the Yamuna river comes from neighboring states, especially Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

He said, “Industrial waste flowing in Yamuna does not come from Delhi, because there are no industries in Delhi causing water pollution. This waste falls into Najafgarh drain from Gurgaon side through Badshahpur drain. Industrial waste is dumped at Narela in Sonipat. It falls into Yamuna from other side. Industrial waste comes from Uttar Pradesh in Shahdara drain.

He also informed that there is a barrage near Kalindi Kunj managed by UP Jal Nigam, which has 12 gates. “If all these gates are opened, foam will not accumulate, but they usually open only 2-3 gates,” Jain said. On October 24, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva took a dip in the Yamuna river to protest against the AAP-led Delhi government. He criticized the increasing pollution in the river and the city. Speaking to ANI, Sachdeva said, “We have rolled out a red carpet for the ‘royal’ people. We have also arranged for two chairs, as this tradition was started by Atishi himself.”

He further said, “We have arranged for a red carpet because ‘Sheesh Mahal’‘People living in are used to the red carpet. We have arranged for two chairs because this tradition was started by Atishi herself, so if she comes, she will need two chairs. And if Arvind Kejriwal comes, we will be happy. Although he is on bail, he was the Chief Minister of Delhi. If they come, we will wait for some more time.” On October 22, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena shared pictures of toxic foam on requested.
