Early last month, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Putin on the sidelines of the 16th BRICS summit in Kazan, he invited the president to visit India next year for the 23rd India-Russia annual summit.
While giving information, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to visit India in the near future. However the exact dates have not been finalized yet. This announcement marks an important step towards strengthening the long-standing partnership between the two countries. This will be Putin’s first visit to India after the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war in 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin last visited India on December 6, 2021. He traveled to New Delhi for the 21st India-Russia Annual Summit with the Prime Minister. If Putin decides to visit India in 2024, it will include his third bilateral interaction with Prime Minister Modi.
