On Wednesday, two persons were killed and three others were injured, including a woman, due to landslides near Jungle Chhatti Barsati drain on Kedarnath walking road in Uttarakhand. According to information received from the Superintendent of Police Office of Rudraprayag, the people who were suffering from landslides at around eleven in the morning have been taken for treatment.
Two died due to landslides on Kedarnath walking route
According to the information, due to debris and stone from the hill near the rainy drain, some passengers and palanquin operators passing through this area fell into the ditch. On receiving the information, the police and district disaster management force teams reached the spot and brought out the people who fell into the ditch and brought them up. One of the injured has suffered minor injuries while two men have been seriously injured who have been sent to Gaurikund for treatment. People who have been victims of the accident are being identified. Meanwhile, passengers are being moved in the presence of police.
A woman also included in three injured in landslide
According to Rudraprayag Superintendent of Police Akshay Prahlad Konde, police and District Disaster Response Force (DDRF) personnel immediately reached the spot and rescued the affected persons on receiving information about the incident. The SP said that two people died on the spot, while three others, including a woman, were injured. The woman suffered minor injuries, while the seriously injured men were referred to the health center of Gaurikund.

Rudraprayag police said, “Some passengers and Dundi/Kandi holders were trapped due to sudden debris and stone fall from the upper hill near Junglechatti at 11:20 am today. Local police and DDRF teams immediately reached the spot and saved the injured.” The deceased devotees have not yet been identified. The injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment in Gaurikund. The police have requested all the passengers to take special precautions while passing through the hill routes and strictly follow the instructions issued by the administration.

Helicopter crashes near Kedarnath temple
Earlier on Sunday, a helicopter crashed near Kedarnath, killing all seven people, including two -year -old children and pilots. The helicopter flew from Kedarnath to Guptkashi at around 5.30 am, but crashed shortly after flying. Rudraprayag District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar said that the accident occurred over the forests of Gaurikund due to reduced visibility due to bad weather.
According to sources in the news agency PTI, Aryan Aviation Private Limited’s helicopter crashed between Gaurikund and Trijuginarayan in Kedarghati and caught fire. A landslide also occurred on Sunday, in which one person was killed and two others were injured. The journey was temporarily stopped after landslides.

Kedarnath Temple, a prestigious temple of Lord Shiva opened on May 2, after that Badrinath opened on 4 May. These high -altitude temples attract millions of pilgrims every year and remain open for about six months, usually closure till October or November due to harsh winter conditions.
