Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said his government is considering filing a case against the government of poll-bound Maharashtra for allegedly issuing false advertisements about its flagship ‘guarantee’ schemes. Karnataka Chief Minister said that the possibilities of legal action against the ‘Mahayuti’ government are being considered. The grand coalition government in Maharashtra consists of Bharatiya Janata Party, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party.

In response to a question asked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the possibility of the Karnataka government taking any action on targeting the guarantee schemes of the Karnataka government during the Maharashtra election campaign and giving misleading information about these schemes, Siddaramaiah said, “This is just This is to mislead the people of Maharashtra so that they can get votes. He (Prime Minister) is lying. False advertisement is being given by the Maharashtra government.” The Chief Minister told reporters here, ”I am exploring the possibility of taking legal action.
